Doña Pilar M. Alberto Integrated High School successfully held its Adopt a Ship closing ceremony in partnership with OSM Thome on April 7, 2025. The program began with a solemn prayer led by the AP Coordinator, followed by an inspiring message from Principal Mr. Omar M. Jacalne, who expressed his gratitude and encouraged students to dream big, assuring them of the school’s continued support for the initiative. 2/O Maribel Singian shared her remarkable journey as a seafarer, reminding students that neither gender nor financial challenges should stand in the way of success. A vibrant intermission dance by the KaMAAP Club Officers added energy to the event. Capt. Sherwin Rafael of OSM Thome then motivated the students to consider careers in the maritime field, emphasizing the wide range of opportunities available. Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, highlighted the power of teamwork and led the students in singing 'The Greatest Love of All,' celebrating the youth as the leaders of tomorrow. C/O Jeffrey Aldas expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the program and engaged students through fun games and a Q&A session, which they joined with enthusiasm. Certificates were awarded to recognize the participants’ efforts and involvement. To conclude, Mr. Jorelle Chrysan L. Gasapos delivered a heartfelt reminder: 'This is not an ending, but the beginning of greater opportunities.' Indeed, the program did not close a chapter but instead set sail toward a brighter and more promising horizon for the students.
