Adopt A Ship Meetings with Shipping Companies

To strengthen the partnership and encourage continued participation of both shipping companies and educational institutions in the Adopt A Ship program, IMO Ambassador Mr. George Hoyt, together with the AASI Team, conducted a series of important visits and meetings. During these engagements, Mr. Hoyt proudly presented the creative artworks produced by students through their Adopt a Ship activities, including a unique board game developed by Magsaysay Elementary School in San Pedro, Laguna. Inspired by Snakes and Ladders, the board game uses a world map format where students roll dice and advance by correctly answering questions derived from their weekly exchanges with ship officers—covering topics such as geography. The Schools Division Office of San Pedro commended this innovation and announced that it will be expanded into an inter-school competition across all 20 elementary schools in November.
