On April 4, 2025, Calendola National High School (CNHS), in partnership with Crossworld, held its culminating activity for the Adopt a Ship program—marking a meaningful journey of learning and inspiration. The event opened with a solemn invocation, setting the tone of faith and unity. Mr. Makram Daouk, Crossworld’s Business Director, highlighted the vital role of the maritime industry in everyday life and praised Filipinos as future leaders of the global fleet. He also encouraged young women to pursue careers in maritime, underscoring the importance of inclusivity on deck. Mr. Manuel Bocalandro, Community and Social Impact Consultant, expressed gratitude to the team behind the program’s success and reaffirmed Crossworld’s strong commitment to supporting maritime education. IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador Mr. George Hoyt emphasized teamwork as an essential compass for navigating life’s journeys. C/O Jeffrey Aldas energized the crowd with a lively Q&A on maritime history and general knowledge, sparking enthusiasm and active participation among students. As the program drew to a close, certificates of appreciation were awarded to all participants. Dr. Renante R. Soriano, PSDS/OIC-Principal, concluded the ceremony with heartfelt thanks, affirming CNHS’s steadfast support for the Adopt a Ship initiative and its mission to guide students toward becoming the next generation of seafarers and maritime leaders.
