Adelina 1 NHS Closing Ceremony with Senator Crewing Manila was held On April 7, 2025
The closing ceremony of the Adopt a Ship Program at Adelina 1 NHS, facilitated by Senator Crewing Manila, provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the world of the maritime industry. The event was designed to broaden their knowledge while creating a memorable experience for all participants. The program opened with remarks from Mr. Jilly F. Forteza, School Principal, who expressed his hope that the initiative would inspire students and help shape their future aspirations. He emphasized the lasting impact such opportunities could have on their lives. This was followed by a message from Mr. Juan Paulo Cunanan, Talent Acquisition Officer, who highlighted how the maritime profession fosters personal growth while enabling individuals to support their families. Adding further inspiration, C/O Jerahmeel Soler, Technical Interviewer, spoke about the exciting opportunities in the maritime field, from global travel and cultural exchanges to building a strong foundation for one’s future. He reminded students, 'Your attitude matters the most—it’s not just about the results, but about the legacy you create for your family.' Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, emphasized the role of teamwork both at sea and within families, reminding everyone that the maritime industry is an inclusive field that welcomes all. To conclude, Mr. Jeffrey Aldas, Managing Coordinator of AASI, shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming Adopt a Ship learning sessions, which will provide students with hands-on exposure and valuable maritime experiences. The ceremony marked not only the successful conclusion of the program but also the beginning of new possibilities, knowledge, and career paths for the students of Adelina 1 NHS.
