On 5 April, Chief Engineer Kishore Gambhir, Adopt A Ship Coordinator Mr. Smit Kumar, and IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador George Hoyt, FNI, celebrated India Maritime Day with the introduction of Adopt A Ship to six hundred children and the amazing staff of the CLM Public School in Noida. They were given world maps and shown the excellent film made by the Maritime Awareness Program Society (MAPS) and IME. This created very enjoyable discussions with the children as they embarked on their virtual journey following ships around the world. The students expressed great enthusiasm and had many interesting questions about the maritime industry. An agreement was reached with Managing Director Jogender Singh and Principal Reena Gupta to launch Adopt A Ship programs for their Elementary, Junior High School, and Senior High School students when the new school year begins in June.
