CROSSWORLD Closing Ceremony With SNES & SPCES

November 24, 2025

The Crossworld Closing Ceremony held with Sto. Niño Elementary School and San Pedro Central Elementary School was a meaningful and inspiring celebration that highlighted the power of dreams, teamwork, and maritime awareness among young learners. The event showcased two schools united in one vision—bringing the maritime world closer to students and empowering them to dream boldly for their future.

SNES Closing Ceremony

Ms. Rachele Echon welcomed all the participants and emphasized the “heart connection”—a bond that helps students appreciate life at sea and the vital role of seafarers. A Mother and Daughter song rendition added warmth to the event.

Ms. Dyan Navarro, Human Resources Manager, delivered an encouraging reminder: “There is no impossible! You can be whatever you want to be. Crossworld is here for you!”

Capt. Ricky Victoria, Recruitment Manager, inspired the students with his childhood story. He shared that when he was in Grade 4, he dreamt of becoming either a captain or a pilot. Through determination, perseverance, and faith, he pursued examinations, earned a scholarship, and eventually became a captain—proving that dreams backed with hard work and prayer can come true. He encouraged the students to keep dreaming and trust God’s timing.

Mr. George Hoyt, IMO Goodwill Maritime Ambassador, conveyed his appreciation to the school leaders and Crossworld for their unwavering support. He highlighted the importance of teamwork, sharing that his own friendships have lasted for 70 years because of respect and love. He stressed the vital role of the shipping industry in sustaining daily global needs, noting that without seafarers, half of the world could suffer and operations could freeze.

Reinforcing the value of unity, Mr. Hoyt shared, “If one wins, we all win,” emphasizing that teamwork is essential both in the maritime world and in life.

A message of gratitude from C/Off Jeffrey Aldas honored all participants and partners. A lively Q&A session followed, featuring geography and maritime-related questions that actively engaged the students.

Certificates were awarded to teachers, partner companies, and— for the first time—Young Mariner Awardees, recognizing students who showed outstanding interest in maritime learning.

The ceremony concluded with the heartfelt Closing Remarks of Mr. Aladino Saculles, who expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to bring the program to life at SNES.

SPCES Closing Ceremony

At SPCES, the program opened with a message from Principal II Mrs. Jodelyn Labad, who expressed her appreciation for the Adopt-a-Ship Program and how it bridges the gap between the maritime world and classroom learning.

Ms. Nida Santos described the event as a celebration of a remarkable journey and a testament to the strong collaboration between the school and maritime partners.

Ms. Dyan Navarro once again engaged the students by asking, “Ten or twenty years from now, what do you want to be?” She reminded them that their dreams are valid and achievable: “You can be whatever you want to be.”

Capt. Ricky Victoria encouraged the children to explore more about the maritime world. He was impressed when a student asked why the density of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans differs—an advanced and thoughtful question he answered with passion and enthusiasm.

Mr. George Hoyt emphasized that each person plays an important role in a team. He facilitated a mathematics game and skillfully connected it to shipping, demonstrating how classroom learning applies to real maritime operations.

The event continued with fun games following the Thank You message from Mr. Jeffrey Aldas, an awarding ceremony, and joyful photo opportunities.

Ms. Jocelyn Oliveros concluded the ceremony with heartfelt gratitude to all who made the program possible, sharing how much the SPCES community enjoyed the entire experience.
