Meeting with Marlow Navigation

On August 2, 2024, IMO Ambassador George Hoyt, together with the AASI Team, met with Marlow Navigation’s CEO, Mr. Antonio Galvez Jr., alongside Capt. Leopoldo Tenorio, Ms. Jeanne Araga, and Ms. Rachelle Meneses. The discussion centered around the successful implementation of the AAS program with three schools in San Pedro in partnership with Marlow Navigation. Mr. Hoyt expressed his enthusiasm for the positive outcomes of their participation and the meaningful connections they built with the school communities. He also conveyed his gratitude for Marlow’s generous donations, which supported various school activities and programs. Mr. Galvez proudly shared that several boys from the Pangarap Foundation, which Mr. Hoyt also supports, are now working at Marlow’s office as culinary staff, with some even advancing to work onboard ships. Mr. Hoyt was delighted to meet them and hear about the bright futures they are creating. Marlow Navigation, which partners with Magsaysay Elementary School, received an updated version of the board game developed as part of their AAS activity, now featuring the Philippines at the center of the world map. The meeting also included discussions on future plans for the Adopt a Ship program, with Ms. Araga confirming Marlow’s continued participation with three elementary schools in the program’s rerun in August. The meeting was highly productive, filled with inspiration and forward-looking plans.
